Tony Whieldon is
the UK's top fishing illustrator and also a master painter of the
English landscape.
The Tony Whieldon Gallery presents a collection of paintings of the
Devon countryside and the fish that reside therein. Since boyhood,
the love of fishing and the gift of drawing havegone hand in hand
- along with an ever broadening knowledge of the landscape and the
innate ability to paint it as a true artist. His work is a collection
of oils, watercolours, line & wash, pen & ink and pencil drawings.
The subjects of his collection are predominently fish, a good deal
of landscapes and also some architectural, portrait and still life.
Tony is the Author / illustrator of the 'Complete Guide to Fishing
Skills' now in a new updated edition.
Having worked in London in the 60's as an exhibition artist and in
the 70's as a graphic designer and signwriter, he comes from the old
school of rigorous well observed traditional technique. Since relocating
to Crediton, Devon in the 80's, Tony has established himself as arguably
Britains top fishing illustrator, producing a long running double
page strip for Anglers Mail in the 90's and illustrating several books.
He now contributes illustrated short stories of his own fishing experiences
to Waterlog Magazine and is producing a new range of books - the first
of which is entitled 'Simply Coarse Fishing' - published by Medlar
Press. |
